SIANspheric - there's always someplace you'd rather be NR-050

Sianspheric's classic 1998 record, remastered and issued on vinyl for the first time in a limited edition deluxe gatefold package. Ben Rayner's album of the year for 1998 in the Toronto Star ("Hamilton's finest deserve indie-god status for this enthralling study in the psychedelic possibility of the electric guitar"), this edition was remastered by Carl Saff and pressed on white vinyl.

The gatefold features never before seen photographs as well as a recreation of a crucial document in the band's history: a letter from famed Canadian producer Daniel Lanois.

Lanois had seen the band play in ‘96 and asked to work with them. After recording a couple jams and a cover of “Imagine” with him in ‘97 at his Grant Avenue studio, they started planning how to record There's Always Someplace You'd Rather Be with Lanois at the helm. When they realized the stars weren’t going to align, they had a bohemian sit down and Dan scrawled out technical notes which the band followed to a tee when recording in their drummer’s dad’s shed. That letter is recreated in this new 2023 pressing.

Incredible record in an incredible package. Limited to 300 copies worldwide.

Released June 9, 2023.
